Unglid Paul

I love working with adult ESL learners because I learn so much from my students’ experiences. In my class, you’ll find a supportive, engaging community and build confidence in your English. I was born in Gonaïves, Haiti, and came to the U.S. when I was two years old. I’m currently a PhD student in Duke University’s Romance Studies Department (French & Francophone Studies). My class is best for intermediate speakers who want to grow their skills and confidence in English.

Annelise Lobo

I am passionate about spreading knowledge by teaching others English and would love for you to join my class! My classes will attempt to touch on science, politics, psychology and social conversations. I grew up in Karachi, Pakistan and moved to the USA when I was 18 for college. I am currently an engineer during the day so all my classes will be held in the evening and are for advanced speakers (know how to speak English but are looking to be fluent). ​

John D'Amico

Teaching English and learning new languages are some of my favorite things to do – I have experience with conversation in Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. I'm originally from Philadelphia, though I have been living in North Carolina for a few years now. Currently, I am working in the UNC Hospital System, as well as in the UNC Bioinformatics department. I plan to enter medical school in the next 2 year; however, I want to continue teaching my courses for as long as possible.

My class is best suited for beginners, who have little/no experience with English study, and are looking to strengthen their skills. I strive to implement comprehensible input into my coursework and set my students up to understand English in a variety of contexts. I aim to incorporate my students' interests into my curriculum, and I enjoy getting to know everyone who I teach!
